The beats will soon return to the streets, as Electronic Arts the in-game soundtrack to NBA Street V3, headlined by the Beastie Boys' "An Open Letter to NYC." The rap trio from New York won't only be featured musically in the game, but will be unlockable players as well. Gamers will have the chance to take on Mike D, MCA and Adrock, representing in New York Knicks uniforms, in NYC's Dyckman Park in the game's Street Challenge mode, and can be unlocked for all of V3's modes if defeated.

Back to the music, the Beasties are one of 13 fresh acts composing NBA Street V3's high-energy soundtrack, which includes a number of remixes done specifically for the game.

"Once again, EA TRAX delivers the ultimate in game music. Beastie Boys are among the most influential artists of all time, and their participation in NBA Street V3 represents an unprecedented new coming-together of hip-hop, basketball and videogame culture," suggests Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music at EA.
