NBA '06 Calls the All-Star Game
Phone your bookies now; it's simulation time!

Ever since GameDay started predicting the outcomes of the SuperBowl better than Miss Cleo channeling Nostradamus, Sony Computer Entertainment Sports Studio (née 989 Sports), has been high on using the simulation powers of their games to predict the outcomes of sporting events.
This time, it's the divination powers of NBA '06 vs. the 2006 NBA All-Star game. And the list of predictions are quite ambitious. The '06 reckons the Western Conference will take it this year, led by the Lakers' Kobe Bryant's 23 points in the game and the Rockets' Tracy McGrady's 17. Between the two teams, more than 300 points will be netted, with the Eastern Conference falling behind after the second half to let the Western All-Stars win 149-128.
Drilling down a little more precisely, the game envisions Suns Guard Steve Nash taking the Skills Challenge with the Hornets' Chris Paul nipping at his heels. The 3-Point Shootout was clinched by another Phoenix teammate, Raja Bell, who bested the Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki with 20 points and three moneyballs. The game apparently feels last year's 3-Point champ, Quentin Richardson of the Knicks won't make it past the first round.
They're fairly exact predictions to say the least, and it'll be interesting to see how closely the game plays out when paired up against the number-crunching ability of SCE Sports' latest roundball offering. For those keeping tally, drop us a line and let us know how close it will. Unless of course it's all correct, in which case Sony will happily make sure we tell you all about it.
