Monday arrives with the news of the first of what we're sure are going to be many announcements of games getting the golden treatment. In this case, it's Japanese developer Cavia's completion of the PlayStation 2's second Naruto adventure. Given that the first game ended up being surprisingly good, we've got high hopes for Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2, and Namco Bandai Games America is apparently all too happy to tout the game's improvements.

In addition to the basic info that the game had finally gone gold (read: it's done, and the gold master disc is headed off for mass retail production), NBGA (we like to call 'em nuhbiga) called out the game's new storyline (it involves apparently not-so-long-lost secret organization that is attacking Naruto's Hidden Leaf Village in search orbs that will resuscitate an ancient evil -- y'know, standard stuff), the fact that there's multiplayer co-op and vs. fights with more than 10 playable characters also found in the main storyline, Mission and Survival Modes and character customization with special Plates and Chips that fit into them.

We've actually got a near-final build of the game and will be tossing up a preview later this week, but the game will ship to stores in just over a month, so you won't have to take our word on it. Of course you will though because we're so trustworthy and awesome, right? Riiiiiight? Updates are coming soon, so keep an eye out for 'em.
