Mercury Meltdown Gets Mixed
Or remixed, rather, as Ignition Entertainment is taking its pint-sized puzzler to the PS2.

The puzzle genre saw somewhat of a rival with the launch of the PSP. Lumines, for one (on top of hypnotizing us into a block-dropping trance for hours on end), garnered enough rave reviews to inspire the team at Q Entertainment to not only to get right back to work on a sequel, but also bring the series to the big screen with the upcoming Lumines Plus.
Curiously enough, Ignition Entertainment looks to be going the same exact route with the Archer Maclean poster child, Mercury. Not only is a follow-up set to touch down at retail next month, but, as announced today, a PS2 version is also brewing.
Mercury Meltdown Remix, as they're calling it, will put players (as an amorphous blob of liquid mercury) through a hefty 200+ mind-numbing, trap-ridden levels. With the DualShock 2 now to its advantage, the game will offer the utmost control of blob and camera, with even some Rumble feedback in there for kicks. And when you immerse yourself in puzzle games as deep as we do, that's a darn good thing.
"Mercury Meltdown Remix for the PS2 brings an amazing amount of control to the camera and blob by use of both analog sticks on the DualShock controller. The control is unbelievably intuitive allowing for full concentration on the mind-tingling levels themselves," oozed Paul Robinson, president of Ignition Entertainment. "The Remix labs contain more puzzle levels than any previous Mercury title, and with the party games and bonus features, it creates almost limitless gameplay possibilities."
Almost! Mercury Meltdown Remix should be plopping into North American and European stores this November, but for those keeping their eyes
