2K Sports is covering some pretty impressive ground this year with the latest in its ever-expanding baseball series. Not necessarily in terms of innovative content (though we'll surely hear all about it as the release approaches), but in that the entire PlayStation family will be seeing a rendition of Major League Baseball 2K7.
How to celebrate such a joyous event?
For one, you can get Derek Jeter back on-board for yet another year of capturing his on-field prowess for all the world to see. Yes, the seven-time All-Star has indeed reclaimed his spot as cover boy for MLB 2K7, fresh off a prolific 2006 season holding the American League's second highest overall batting average, nabbing his third straight Gold Glove, and even winning the Hank Aaron Award for best overall offensive performer for the AL. Surely someone must have something to say about this!
"We strive with every 2K Sports product to bring the most entertaining and realistic sports experience possible," trumpeted Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "With Major League Baseball 2K7 we listened to our fans, redesigning the game by strengthening the core gameplay and incorporating new, innovative features. When Major League Baseball 2K7 is released later this winter, fans will experience the most authentic and exciting MLB video game experience on any platform."
"It is a real privilege to represent the premier MLB title in the video game industry," blushed Derek Jeter. "Just as I am always striving to improve my game, 2K Sports is constantly improving theirs, and this dedication has made Major League Baseball 2K7 the best MLB video game ever."
Kind words indeed! You can find out for yourself just how solid of a game 2K Sports is bringing to the plate when MLB 2K7 hits for the PlayStation 2, PSP annnnd the PlayStation 3 in March. We'll be back with some glorious in-game feature updates before then, trust us.
