Made Man Makes It

Mm... what? Oh, no, we weren't salivating over Made Man, we were just abbreviating it. Though it could be good!

Old timers: notoriously known as awful drivers, but hell if they don't offer the most valuable nuggets of advice and some riveting tall tales of yesteryear to boot. War stories, marriage proposals, social commentary in spite of "kids these days"... it's all pretty standard material, but how about a detailed recap of how Grandpa worked his way up the Mafioso crime ladder?

Made Man offers just that kind of peculiar insight and, given its also-unique take on the action genre (when's the last time you trudged through the jungles of Vietnam and silenced Cosa Nostra cronies all in the same game?), we're willing to go with it. Players follow Joey Verola, or rather, they relive Joey Verola, as the one-time leading mob man, now in his old age, indulges his nephew with the three-decade-spanning story of his life, from war solider to foot soldier. The tale-telling is said to unfold on a "harrowing day in New York," so we expect just a tad bit of present day tie-in to the whole thing.

For a touch of authenticity, author and an all-around know-it-all of organized crime, David Fisher (Killer, Hit 29, The Good Guys) offered insight to the game's ongoing narrative, with many scenarios based on real-world events. Woowoo! And if we may dump the time old laundry list o' features on you: over two dozen weapons (pistols, rifles, shotguns, melee-type... the whole shebang), dual wielding, jump-to-cover mechanics, picture-in-picture remote viewing of key locations, deformable environments and rag-doll physics. And we totally didn't just copy that!

Hm... we're out of interesting things to say. Guess we'll have to resort to brief sentence blurts of wisdom. Made Man! Out now! New trailer! Watch now! Go go go!
