Madden NFL 06 Rushes to Retail
The latest in EA's best-selling sports franchise is now fully stocked in a game store near you.

Oh, what an uneventful year it is for videogame football. With top rival 2K Games out of a football franchise and use of the NFL license, only Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 06 is seeing the light of retail today.
Despite the lack of competition, developer EA Tiburon has nonetheless done its part to enhance the already-successful Madden formula, this year implementing the new QB Vision Control and Precision Placement, putting all the more pressure on the quarterback to scope the field wisely and connect with well-placed passes. Rewarding gamers who play the game a bit more physically is the new Truck Stick Control, making those big hits truly count for clearing paths or breaking tackles.
The selection of gameplay modes has also been expanded this year with the addition of the single-player NFL Superstar mode. Here, gamers can experience what it is to be an NFL player, on the field and off, earning any of 60 personas, hiring an agent, hitting up tattoo parlors, starring in major movie roles and then some. Word has it you can even choose your parents. So much for realism, eh?
