Anybody Want a GT2000 Sandwich For Launch?

EB and Software, Etc. have stated that GT2000 will be available for launch. And I'm a lowly internet videogame reporter. . . well, actually, that's a whole other story.

PS2.IGN.com has reported that PlayStation2's much anticipated racing title, Gran Turismo 2000, has been penciled-in for launch at both Electronics Boutique and Software Etc./Babbages.

According to both retail chains, GT 2000 will be available next to the PlayStation2 at the system's launch on October 26, 2000 in the United States. But these guys said GT2 would be out at it's original launch date, unforunately, the original launch date came and went with no word from either company. In addition to GT 2000, it should be noted that the following titles will also be *available* on October 26, 2000: NFL GameDay 2001, Ico, Dark Cloud, and FantaVision - note that none of these games have been confirmed by Sony Computer Entertainment America.

SCEA's Ryan Bowling had this to say concerning the two companies claims, "At this time, we (Sony) haven't officially announced our release lineup for October 26, 2000 on PlayStation 2."

It is also interesting that the date for Final Fantasy X and XI have been set (by Electronics Boutique, that is). Both (note that they said "both") titles are set for a November 2, 2000 release - which is beyond unlikely, as neither game will be released in 2000, even in Japan.
