Traveller's Tales Gets Original
The Crash 5 developer has announced an original project for the PS2! Can you handle another platformer?! Well, can you?!

Traveller's Tales may not be a big name...yet. The house that platformers built is hard at work bringing Crash Bandicoot to the 128-bit world, and once they've finished there, the company announced today that they're working on a completely original character-based... (wait for it) platformer!
The details are still rather sketchy (we still don't even know the title of the game), but we do know (thanks to the press release) that it will use an "advanced proprietary engine" that promises to "take full advantage of the system's graphic and technical capabilities..." What we DO know for sure, however, is that the story will follow a lowly slave who, throughout the course of the game, matures into a mighty warrior. Need more to pique your interest? Check out what Larry Goldberg and Jon Burton have to say:
"With more than a decade of experience in creating games based on some of the most well-known characters in entertainment, Traveller's Tales is the perfect developer to partner with on the creation of this innovative game," said Goldberg, Activision's executive VP. "Our shared vision, coupled with Traveller's Tales' talent and advanced technology, will allow us to develop a game that marks an evolutionary step in character-based gaming."
Burton, Traveller's Tales', president agrees. "We are excited to partner with Activision on what will be our most ambitious title to date. We've been wanting to create this game for several years and feel the timing is just right. Activision is giving us a fantastic opportunity to devote the time we would like on this new game in order to deliver something truly spectacular for players. Our strong relationship with Activision makes them the perfect publishing partner to help us realize our vision."
Guess there's nothing more to say. When more info heads our way, it'll head yours.
