Nyko Shows Their Frontman

It's a controller, y'see, for Guitar Hero II.

It's a safe bet to say that no music game has ingrained itself in the gaming public's consciousness as well as Guitar Hero, and with Guitar Hero II hitting today, the sheer number of 3rd party controllers just goes to how exactly how much of a phenomenon Harmonix Music Systems' game is (and if you bastards had actually played FreQuency and Amplitude, we'd get a sequel to them and more people would be freaking out at how awesome it is to play music).

Hoping to cash in on the faux rock star love-in that GHII is already no doubt producing, Nyko has decided to cash in on the action, whipping up their Frontman Wireless Guitar. Yes, we said wireless, and though we doubt many will confuse it with [ps2news=]RedOctane's official wireless controller[/game] (hey, Nyko isn't exactly known for their killer peripherals), it's still another offering.

"Nyko is a company dedicated to it's customers and meeting their demands." assured Chris Arbogast, marketing manager at Nyko. "By adding wireless functionality and an authentic look to the Frontman, we are allowing you to rock out without getting tangled, and look good while playing."

The 2.4GHz controller and its 25 foot range goes on sale today in conjunction with the release of the game. If you just can't wait for the official one, you can drop the same amount of cash (60 bucks) and pick it up today.
