Ok, so Electronic Arts is a little late out of the gate in trying to create their own rendition of a digital go-anywhere, do-anything dystopia, but EA Redwood Shores is nonetheless hard at work giving a three-decade old Mafioso franchise a fitting game treatment.


The Godfather The Game is rife with plenty of wise guys, rivaling families and gratuitous violence only possible in New York City circa 1945-55, and Steve Smith knows all about it. How? Why, he’s the world designer behind the project and is plenty knowledgeable when it comes to turning movie locales into sprawling game environments.

Mr. Smith recently shined a bit of light on what went into crafting the seedy streets of Brooklyn, in this Q & A, a gritty working class neighborhood in the game and also home to The Tattaglia Family.
