GameDay 2001 Arrives Onto The PS2

It seems that the greatest football simulation of all time; Madden 2001 for the PS2 may face competition from Sony's very own football series -- GameDay 2001.

Today, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) released it's heavily favored football series; NFL GameDay 2001 onto the PlayStation2 console. The long-awaited football game promises to challenge the mighty champion of football games; Madden 2001.

Madden, which was released as a launch title has since gone on to become the highest selling title available for the PlayStation2 console. Madden 2001 had also topped the rental charts until today.

The game will come fully loaded with all of the official NFL teams and stadiums. Additionally, Dick Enberg and Phil Simms will deliver a fast-paced commentary during play.

The title will run at speeds of 60 frames per second. Will we have another major football war on our hands? We will have to wait and see. NFL GameDay 2001 marks the second first-party title to be released ever since the PS2's launch in October.

The very first first-party title was Fantavision, released as launch game.
