Eureka!
Namco Bandai preps transformable mech combat.

As titles go Eureka Seven is one of the most interesting juxtapositions of words we've seen in a while. Was a dartboard employed? Random title generator? Or is there something more clever, more.. insidious going on? No, it's probably just a quirky title by way of Namco Bandai, specifically the latter half.
If you're an anime fan, you may have heard of the series already. If you aren't, well, you'd probably just make jokes about how funny-sounding the game is like some kind of uncultured swine. Not us though, we read the press release. We're cultured swine!
See, the game is based on the anime, and as such it's filled with LFO (Light Finding Operation) mechas and something called "trapars" - itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny invisible particles that the LFOs use for lift. Trapars are of particular interested, obviously to those that would pilot LFOs for a living. Specifically, Vol. 1 focuses on Sumner Sturgeon, an up-and-coming LFO pilot with a bright military career ahead of him on a planet rife with trapars.
And, really, that's all we know. LFOs, like all good robots, can transform, shifting from flight (via a "ref board") to ground transport vehicle seamlessly. The folks at Bandai aim to take advantage of both forms with vehicle chases and air combat. To keep things interesting throughout, the LFOs can be upgraded and customized with parts. Ours is gonna be covered in cute pink polka dots!
Eureka Seven hits this fall, but we're certain to get plenty of updates between now and then.
