Def Jam Sequel Gets a Change in Name
No longer Def Jam II, the sequel in EA's hip-hop fighting series has been renamed to Def Jam Fight for NY.

Electronic Arts and Def Jam have officially changed the name of the up and coming follow-up to Def Jam Vendetta series from Def Jam II to Def Jam Fight for NY. As suggested by the new title, the game is set in the the Big Apple, where you as an ambitious yet ruthless street fighter must battle for control of New York's hip-hop underground. The 40+ playable characters will include Busta Rhymes, Carmen Electra, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Sean Paul, Slick Rick, and the recognizable Method Man and Redman. In the midst of a fight, interactive environments can be utilized, weapons can be used to one's advantage, and five unique fight styles can be executed as a part of Fight for NY's spanking new fighting engine.
