Say what you will about the whole EA Traxxxx approach to culling a bunch of Top 40 power-pop tunes that has permeated all of Electronic Arts' games over the past couple years, but if you happen to have your ears glued to MTV or your local "alternative" radio station, the sounds blaring out of your speakers during Burnout games that weren't metal crumpling or glass shattering or tires squealing were actually kinda... good.

Well guess what, kids? With artists like Avril Lavigne, Burnout Dominator soundtrack is even more MTV-friendly. Fear not, though, Jane's Addiction, Filter, N.E.R.D. and Alice in Chains sorta help balance everything out. And to hear super-awesome EA music exec Steve Schnur tell it, the nearly three dozen tracks in the game are something to get excited about.

"The ]Burnout series is an amazing, proven platform for launching the world's biggest songs and artists, and we're thrilled to be working with Avril Lavigne this year to help debut her new song "Girlfriend," Schnur, EA's Worldwide Executive of Music, squealed. "From pop to rock to metal Burnout Dominator is all about attitude and rebellion, which makes it a perfect fit for the 33 artists."
