THQ, a big name when it comes to the publishing of videogames, has said that they have completed their previously announced "taking over" of digital entertainment creator Rainbow Studios.

Rainbow currently has two titles for the PlayStation 2 in the works. The first being LucasArts' Star Wars: Racer Revenge, which is available now for the PSone, and the second being Activision's much anticipated Matt Hoffman Pro BMX 2.

[blockquote]Jeff Lapin, the vice chairman and COO of THQ said that "Acquiring Rainbow further strengthens THQ's network of internal development studios. We look forward to leveraging their expertise in creating original action and racing game content, two of the biggest genres in console gaming."[/blockquote]Previous titles developed by the company include ATV Offroad Fury (SCEA), Splashdown (Infogrames), and the Motocross Madness series for Microsoft.
