Coming ever closer to fulfilling their plans of world domination (or at least that of the licensed football genre), Electronic Arts has scooped up NJ-based team Hypnotix (of Outlaw Golf and Outlaw Volleyball fame) to join with EA Tiburon on the development of "action-oriented" games, the first of those an Arena Football League (AFL) title. Wasting no time, Hypnotix is already packing its bags for Orlando, Florida to get to work. Vacation time!

"EA Tiburon shares our enthusiasm for sports and our passion for making great games," ensures Mike Taramykin, President of Hypnotix. "By joining EA, we are becoming part of a world-class studio organization, home to some of the industry's top designers, best artists and most sophisticated technologists. We couldn't be more excited."

"Arena Football will be a completely new football experience. Hypnotix' proven ability to deliver creative gameplay and unforgettable sports experiences makes them perfectly suited to create this new franchise and develop new action-oriented games in the future," praised Steven Chiang, VP and General Manager of EA Tiburon. "They are a great addition to our studio."

This comes from a partnership between EA Sports and the Arena Football League for the next four years, with the AFL game scheduled to hit stores in time for the sport's 2006 season. We'll let you know how this one comes along.
