New Ape Escape Primed for U.S. Release
Ubisoft is once again stepping up to the role of the publisher for the latest the primate-infested platformer, Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed.

Once again exemplifying that its more than able to import Japanese gold (and capitalizing on SCEA's lack of doing such, in this case), Ubisoft has announced that it will be publishing Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed in North America. Unlike the earlier installments in the series, Pumped & Primed will be a tournament-style game starring familiar characters like Spike and Natalie.
"Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed is an irreverent, sports-oriented fighting game that continues the fun and excitement of the popular Ape Escape series," explained James Regan, Director of Business Development for Ubisoft. "Following the success of Ape Escape 2, Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed is sure to continue the legacy and entertainment of those crazy simians!"
The adventure begins when Spike, Natalie, Casi, Jake and the Professor (4 of those 5 should ring a bell) decide to enter the High Tech Tournament. Things begin to get strange in the computer-generated world when monkeys and their nefarious leader Spike make an unexpected reappearance. Now, it's up to the gang to fight their longtime villain, and most importantly, fight for their survival.
Game features include:
[list][li]Two Game Modes: Play with up to two players in Story mode, consisting of 44 competing levels and eight boss battles, or Versus mode with 21 pre-made tournaments for up to four players. Additionally, players can create their own tournaments from the 28 stages in story mode.[/li]
[li]A Mix of Classic and New Characters from Ape Escape: Play original characters such as Natalie, Spike, the Professor or Jake. New characters include Pipotron, Helga and a mysterious new boss.[/li]
[li]Beat the Competition with a Wide Selection of Gadgets: Each character will have their own set of unique gadgets, including the Stunclub, Dragonfly, Slingshot, RC Car, Dash Hoop and WaterMech.[/li]
[li]More than 400 Unlockable Items: Special gadgets, clothes, fan emails, special summon abilities and movies.[/li][/list]Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed will be prime for U.S. release in October.
