Some of the fondest memories that have ever been created while at work have been birthed while playing Namco's (sorry, Namco Bandai's) Ace Combat series, Kenny Loggins blasting on repeat at stupid high levels while co-workers either cursed each others names or sat transfixed as we took turns cheating death at mach 2.

With every iteration, the development team creeps ever close to fulfilling that core dream that every guy has (even if they don't know it) of reenacting some of the best scenes from Top Gun. But enough about our dreams of bedding Kelly McGillis. They're also getting close to making all those missile-heavy dogfights something of a reality with each new game, and Ace Combat Zero certainly isn't bucking that trend.

"Ace Combat Zero's elite new features such as the innovative Ace style gauge system where the game changes based on the player's style, and its increased wingman command, all help to meld Ace Combat Zero into the best yet in the series," barked Namco Bandai Games America Inc.'s Business Unit Director, Yoshi Niki as he bobbed his head to a little Gorgio Moroder blasting in the background. "We are thrilled to have this superior action title hit stores today."

For more details on what's been added, and to hear us prattling on ever more about how much we wish we flew fighter jets and were quick with the snappy banter, check out previous news on the AC Zero game page, where you can also drink in screenshots that shouldn't be possible on the PS2. We'll have a review shortly.
