Wipeout Fusion Coming To North America?
Wipeout Fusion may finally be making its way to North America.. with the help of Crave Entertainment.

There has been no single game that has ever been able to revolutionize the way we visualize racing games, the way Wipeout did back in 1995. Wipeout would instantly bring a whole new style of racing genre; the type of racing game with futuristic components, and an out-of-this-world atmosphere.
While there were (and still are) so many games that tried their best to simulate the real thing in terms of auto racing, Wipeout did the opposite: It challenged the rules of reality, and decided to make it's own rules in terms of what is fantasy and what isn't.
But Wipeout was able to go beyond even that, changing videogaming from a childish fantasy to a whole new modern pop-culture, now focused on an age-range from 14 to 20. It was announced earlier this year from Psygnosis; the company that started it all, that a new title known as Wipeout Fusion would be released for the PlayStation2 as part of the European launch.
While it is anticipated by now that the European launch of the PlayStation2 could hit Sony in an extremely negative way due to conflicts with media entities, games like Wipeout Fusion could help make a significant difference. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) is also counting on Wipeout Fusion to be a lifesaver for what could end up being a public-relations disaster when the console is launched this fall.
Now according to a new report at SonySource, it has been discovered that Crave Entertainment could very well be bringing the title over to North American audiences. The game, which was recently listed over at GameStop as a North American title with a price of $44.99 (in US dollars) has been listed as being both published and developed by Crave Entertainment.
Furthermore, the game has a North American launch date for November 15, 2000. We will have to see if this was just a simple error on GameStop's part, or if this ends up being the real thing. For now, Crave Entertainment nor Psygnosis are confirming the reports.
