Wild ARMs Turns 10
And you get the present. Check out what we mean inside...

Special Edition packages aren't anything new; smaller-time publishers like Atlus, NIS America and the granddaddy of 'em all, Working Designs, have assembled numerous collectables to go with their games, offering them as deluxe versions of the regular product or as a pre-order bonus, tossing in everything from art books to t-shirts to cloth maps. It is a little odd, however -- particularly since Working Designs is no longer around -- to see a 10th Anniversary Edition of a game as the only version available when the game ships.
Here's the deal: XSEED wanted to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Wild ARMs series -- a series developed by Sony's internal studios but not published by Sony Computer Entertainment America since Wild ARMs 3 -- so they decided that all of the initial run of copies will include a foil-embossed cover and an 80 page "The Art of Wild ARMs" hardbound art book chronicling the series' art direction over the years. Oh, and the kicker? It's still only $40. Apparently XSEED is trying to live up to their name.
The catch, of course, is that only the initial run will be this enhanced package, but considering it sells for the same price as the vanilla version, there's really no reason not to be all over the game when it comes out. As a matter of fact, if we can pull ourselves away from our preview builds of the game, we're going to tell you exactly why you should be there on day one (here's a hint: the game is freakin' awesome). Check back soon for a full-blown preview, but for now, feel free to feast on these new screens.
