The Web Loves Katamari
And you’d better too unless you’re some kinda dirty Commie.

The sleeper hit success of Katamari Damacy meant that a sequel was inevitable -- even if creator Keita Takahashi didn’t want to make it at first, as he told attendees to his keynote at last week’s Game Developer Conference Europe. For whatever reason, though, the sequel is being made, and Takahashi’s still heading the product up.
The aptly-named We Love Katamari will be arriving, co-op two-player action along with it, in a few weeks, but in the mean time Namco has begun cranking up the hype machine with the launch of the WLK web site.
Decked out with the usual goodies we’ve come to expect from an official game site, there’s the usual screenshots, movies, news, wallpaper (including some awesome US exclusives), storyline details, and so on, the site also offers a very interesting fan section.
Designed so that Katamari freaks can upload KD/WLK images, the submissions will actually be reviewed by The King of All Cosmos (and commented on from time to time), as well as judged by Takahashi, the aforementioned game’s creator. Winners picked from the lot will receive prizes that we’re sure are too awesome for words.
Namco’s also promising future updates that help spread the word about the game, so expect more skins to complement the desktop buddy app that’s already up on the site, as well as more info and screenage, we’re sure. Given that the game ships on the 20th of this month, we won’t have to wait long for updates, and we’ll have the review for you as soon as we get some time with the final build of the game.
