We rather enjoy our Tony Hawk series soundtracks. Neversoft always manages to sneak one or two songs onto the tracklist that we get stuck in our heads and end up batting it around the office until we either totally legally purchase and download the song, or just play more of the game to get it out. Or someone punches someone in their off-key face.
For their seventh game (wow, it really has been that many, hasn’t it?) in almost as many years, Neversoft is doing double duty, working with the big cheeses at Activision and Vagrant Records to get hot artists right now to cover classic punk tunes. You can read all about it in the story we did a couple weeks back.
“We’ve compiled the ultimate Tony Hawk music lineup,” giggled Tim Riley, Activision’s worldwide executive of music. “Whether skating their way through East L.A. or biking through Hollywood, the soundtrack will draw players into the game with its perfect accompaniment to the adrenaline pumping action.”
In addition to the remix CD/soundtrack, we’ve also gotten our hands on almost 50 more artists, some of which include an exclusive remix of Bloc Party’s “Like Eating Glass (Tony Hawk Remix)” and a track off of Thrice’s new album, VHEISSU, dubbed “Image of the Invisible.” The full track listing is as follows:
