Skateboards fans who have yet to invest their ducats in a next-generation system may have felt a weeeee bit shafted when Neversoft decided to give the Tony Hawk reins over to Shaba Games for the Birdman’s last outing on the PS2, Tony Hawk Project 8. That and it, uh, sucked.
But worry not, Hawk faithfuls! Turns out, the franchise won’t be going out on such sour note with Sony’s six-year-old brick. In fact, Activision announced that Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam -- which had only floated around a few Nintendo platforms (to overwhelming positive reception on the DS) until now – has hopped its way over to the PS2, with SuperVillian Studios (who did a bang-up job on portable Dungeon Siege) handling development.
Huh? Exclusive features? You bet! Try four new single-player events, three new multiplayer modes and a trio of new playable skaters to boot. It’s enough to make you want to skate out onto oncoming traffic whi—wait, no, don’t do that.
The Hawk’s out again this spring. Keep an eye out for ‘em!
