Infogrames has officially shipped Tanner's latest adventure, Driver 2, to stores. A new addition to the jaw-dropping gameplay that fans from the first game have come to love is the ability to get out of your car at any time and run around, or even steal a (faster) car in a GTA-esque fashion. Another new feature that will make those of you who couldn't master the 90-degree turn during the heat of the chase is that the developers have added roads with curves and slight turns, giving the game a more realistic feel. Fans of the freeway chases from the original game will be happy to know that Infogrames has updated that aspect of the game as well with working onramps and offramps, plus more realistic features to the freeways. While Infogrames has said that they have developed a whole new storyline, experience from the first game is keeping most fans skeptic about the issue.
Expect awesome gameplay, an updated director's mode, amazing cutscenes, and a storyline reminiscent of movies like The Getaway, Bullitt, or Gone In 60 Seconds (some of my favs).
