Giving the GTAspin-off another go, Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced today the launch of The Getaway: Black Monday, whose predecessor sold a surprising 3 million units to earn it the "Greatest Hits" status. The game brings players back to London's crime underworld, presenting them with the stories of three different characters -- Sergeant Ben Mitchell, boxer Eddie O'Connor and thief and part-time computer hacker Sam -- who are faced with the city's latest gangland boss, Viktor Skobel.

Black Monday introduces the concept of gamers having to make moral choices, directly effecting the outcome of the game (understandably leading to multiple endings). Players also have the opportunity to explore 17 new locations, including the "Underground" subway, which developer Team Soho crafted with the use of 25 square miles of London turf.

The Getaway: Black Monday has made its, uh, getaway, to retailers, but kids beware - it's edgy content has this one bearing an "M" for "Mature" rating. We're yet to see if this sequel improves upon its lackluster predecessor - see what we thought of the original Getaway here.
