The RPG Stars are in Alignment
Konami busts out a community-driven site for all it's RPGs.

Having a web site for a video game isn't anything new. For years now, it's been the easiest way for publishers (and in a rare case, developers) to get the word out about their product. It's the funnel for all the screenshots, trailers, gameplay movies, IM buddy icons, contests and, usually, an overabundance of Flash design that a publisher has to offer to the public. However, with the advent of social networking sites like MySpace, it's becoming increasingly important for publishers to leverage a community-style effort when presenting their stuff.
Take Konami for example. They've prepped something they're calling, fittingly, Konami RPG Stars, a site that combines four major RPG franchises under one roof; Suikoden, Ys, Lunar Knights and Tao's Adventure (the latter two are DS games, but we'll show 'em love here too). It's not just the games being shown off, though, RPG Stars actively encourages visitors to sign up, post images of their collection, fill out a profile, and interact with other members, all of which gets them points in the form of stars.
It's an interesting mix, and one that we're intrigued by. With over 2500 members in tow, the community looks like it's gaining steam, so if you've found yourself snared by any of the above mentioned games, why not head over and check things out? The worst that could happed is you end up with a couple new friends -- or a bitter nemesis, but everyone needs a nemesis right? Right!
