At the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo, it has become fairly obvious that Rockstar Games has decided to focus much of their attention towards the PlayStation 2 console.

The gaming firm showed off four PlayStation 2 titles at the show, including Max Payne, Smuggler's Run 2, Grand Theft Auto 3 and State of Emergency. Excluding Max Payne, all of the games are in a playable format.

Two other PlayStation 2 titles, Rune and City Crises, have also come forward to steal some of the attention from the show. City Crises will be a chopper-based shooting title.

Although Rockstar Games does plan to release an XBox version of Grand Theft Auto 3, the game will remain exclusively in the U.S. only. The firm has made a deal with Sony to keep the PlayStation 2 version of GTA3 exclusive outside American boundaries.

We will keep you posted.
