JAKKS Pacific announced today that it has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Midway to produce a version of TV Games based on a handful of Midway classics. TV Games, as you may or may not know, are the compact joysticks that feature a number of videogames and can be played by simply plugging into the A/V jacks of a television. Pretty nifty, right? Well get this: Midway TV Games will feature a slew of top-notch classic Midway titles, including Mortal Kombat, Spy Hunter, Rampage, Joust, Defender I & II, Robotron: 2084, Marble Madness, Smash TV, Super Sprint and Paperboy. What a collection!
"We are excited by the response to the TV Games platform from the nation's gaming community," commented Jennifer Richmond, senior vice president of licensing, JAKKS Pacific. "We are very pleased to add Midway to our exciting roster of top licenses, and believe their games like Mortal Kombat and Defender will be excellent additions to the TV Games line."
Midway TV Games is expected to debut at International Toy Fair 2004, and will be landing on shelves with an affordable $20.00 price tag. For more on this and other TV Games from JAKKS, head on down to www.jakkstvgames.com.
