The Dawn Of Fate Approaches
The Terminator is still coming, and now it's wreaking havoc on the Xbox, too.

The Terminator movies have always been a good source of crappy licensed videogame schlock. Whether they were too hard for the target audience, or just a mess of gameplay, few efforts based on big-time movie properties in the 80's ever made a successful games. In their defense, however, those were the days of the NES, and 8-bit systems are not the best way to try to convey a game experience.
Well, now we're firmly entrenched in the 128-bit era, and the options for presenting a game have changed. There's more processing power, better sound, and penty of time to work on a Terminator game since the third movie has a long ways to go, and nobody's biting their nails wating for a new game based on Arnie's robotic escapades.
With that in mind, developer Paradigm Entertainment (the very same that crafted the incredbly fun Spy Hunter remake on the PS2) is hard at work on what could be a benchmark in movie license-based games. Terminator: Dawn of Fate starts out in 2027, in the bleak, catastrophic future where the machines have all but wiped out the humans. Over 20 weapons are at your disposal, ranging from rocket launchers to plenty of explosive treats you can leave for unwanted guests.
Terminator: Dawn of Fate packs the same frenetic action and over-the-top battle sequences that made the blockbuster movies one of the most popular franchises of all time," beamed Infogrames LA's director of marketing, Laddie Ervin. "Since Terminator: Dawn of Fate takes place before the first Terminator movie, we've developed new elements for the Terminator universe, including all new Skynet Hunter/Killer (HK) machines, characters and storylines that would have existed before the first movie began. I strongly urge all Xbox and Playstation 2 gamers to sharpen their skills--they're in for more no-holds-barred, metal stomping cyborg warfare than they've ever experienced in a video game before."
Both versions of the game will hit in Summer of this year. We'll be sure to toss up any screens or details of the game leading up to its release.
