Spy Hunter Gets Rocked
The Interceptor is back on the streets, but looks who’s stepping out in the new on-foot gameplay? Why, it’s The Rock as Alex Decker!

If the future of videogame-based movies is ever truly going to break into the mainstream, it looks like we’re going to have to adjust to seeing a lot more of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The former wrestling superstar who recently showed off his gun-touting badass-ness in the silver screen interpretation of Doom, is now an… ultimate… secret … agent. Midway seems to find it fitting, casting The Rock as none other than Alex Decker, the spy behind the wheel of the Interceptor, in Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, the next installment in the age-old franchise that’s also (surprise, surprise!) turning into a major motion picture.
"Midway is taking the classic Spy Hunter franchise in a powerful, new direction that will be led by the casting of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as the game’s main character," suggests Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "For the first time in the Spy Hunter franchise we are allowing the player to step out from behind the wheel of the Interceptor and straight into the action."
Stepping out of the Interceptor you say, Steve? The guy’s got connections, as Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run will indeed be giving players somewhere to run, throwing them into out-of-the-vehicle third-person action complete with some intense melee combat that only The Rock could pull off. Honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run steps (see? Even we’re getting carried away with this whole on-foot nonsense!) into retail come summer 2006, with the Spy Hunter flick hitting theatres sometime around then, we’d assume. Stick around for those updates you know and love.
