Electronic Arts may be heading into PS2 production overdrive, with a new high-octane racing game. Nascar Rumble, a game that finally brought NASCAR racing to more arcade-style levels, featured virtually indestructible stock cars, many various options and hidden features, and even the ability to collect items on the track, which could be launched out at other racers.

In essence, Nascar Rumble was meant especially for the audience sick of those racing simulators, where one mistake could send your car into the wall.. hard. The title even brought the concept of real stock car racing, into the world of bump-and-crash racing, invented by games such as Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing.

'Rumble' had a successful debut on the PlayStation, and it's not surprising that such a game may make its way onto the PS2. This new sequel to be titled Daytona Rumble, and judging from the looks of the FMV footage throughout the original title, its very possible that a lot of those in-video graphics could become a primary part of the actual gameplay, as this new title would certainly be able to utilize the added power of the next-generation console.

In other sports news, a sequel to another well-known title; Sled Storm, may also be rapidly approaching the PS2. As one of the very first snowmobile games to land on the PlayStation last year, the title demonstrated realistic racing situations, and unbelievable snow-filled courses. The four-player matchup was one of the better features in the original, along with it's many varying options and settings.

Sled Storm 2 may be arriving for the PS2 as early as Q3 2000. No dates have been given out in regards to Daytona Rumble at this time. We will keep you posted.
