moderngroove Attains License

moderngroove entertainment was recently granted a license to develop various interactive titles for the PlayStation2 console.

moderngroove entertainment recently attained an official license to start development interactive titles for the PlayStation2 console. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) granted the license earlier in the week.


moderngroove was established in July of 1999 by a number of individuals, many of whom had formerly worked for Electronic Arts Canada. EA Canada was recently responsible for the development of the cult-snowboarding hit; SSX. One member of the moderngroove team; Adrian Crook produced EA's Sled Storm which has sold over 1 million copies as of today.

Crook stated the following during the initial announcement:

[blockquote]"When evaluating potential developers, Sony looks for a high level of innovation coupled with the ability to deliver a great product. Our team is excited to be given the chance to prove as much on the most significant entertainment platform in the world."[/blockquote]Darrin Rayner; Sales and Marketing Manager for moderngroove stated that the firm currently has two projects lined up for the PlayStation2 console. More details on these titles will be revealed in the coming weeks.
