SingStar's Track List Rocks!

This is a story about SingStar Rocks!' track list.

Though the question of if Sony was actually going to bring it's mega-selling karaoke series over to the States from the UK was largely put to rest when the PlayStation 3 version was touted as the cornerstone of Sony's online microtransaction system at E3 last year, the when was still a little foggy.

Perhaps that was because Sony was still trying to mess around with the whole online network; with the PS3 launch delayed in Europe, priorities may have shifted a bit, and SingStar PS3 may be a Euro launch game instead. This of course opens up the opportunity to offload SingStar Rocks! onto an American audience not yet familiar with the whole idea.

Yes, in practice it's an awful lot like Karaoke Revolution, but whereas Konami and Harmonix's sing-along used covers, SingStar, like so many Time-Life compendiums, is the actual songs by the actual artists -- many times the music video for the song is playing in the background, tucked behind that absolutely pure sex UK design interface. This means more licensing headaches, but it's also a lot more authentic.

So now it's confirmed. SingStar Rocks! is coming on November 14th, just three days before the PS3 launch. And it's bringing with it a hell of a song lineup. Here take a look:

Gwen Stefani -- Cool
Fall Out Boy -- Dance, Dance
The Killers -- Somebody Told Me
Coldplay -- Speed Of Sound
KT Tunstall -- Black Horse And The Cherry Tree
Aretha Franklin -- Respect
Elton John -- Rocket Man
Marvin Gaye -- I Heard It Through The Grapevine
The Cure -- Friday I’m in Love
D.J. Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince -- Summertime
The White Stripes -- Blue Orchid
Naked Eyes -- (There's) Always Something There To Remind Me
B52s -- Love Shack
Dusty Springfield -- Son Of A Preacher Man
Joss Stone -- Super Duper Love (Are You Diggin On Me?)
Blur -- Song 2
Gloria Gaynor -- I Will Survive
Jet -- Are You Gonna Be My Girl?
Hole -- Celebrity Skin
Thin Lizzy -- The Boys Are Back in Town
Scissor Sisters -- Take Your Mama
The Rolling Stones -- Paint It Black
Bloc Party -- Banquet
The Police -- Every Breath You Take
The Offspring -- Self-Esteem
Lynyrd Skynyrd -- Sweet Home Alabama
Keane -- Everybody's Changing
Scorpions -- Wind Of Change
Good Charlotte -- Girls & Boys
The Hives -- Hate To Say I Told You So

In addition to the usual sing-along mode, Studio London packed in Solo, Freestyle, Pass the Mic, Duet and the all-important Battle Modes (as one would hope). The mix is, quite frankly, awesome, with bits of classic rock in there, more modern stuff, and some old karaoke standbys. Now we just have to wait until November...
