SingStar PS2 Pack Is Go

Mmmm... Sexy, sexy Ceramic White, a copy of SingStar and some mics? Sounds like fun.

Sony is charging whole-hog into this whole embracing of the casual gamer. They've launched Buzz!: The Mega Quiz, which is apparently responsible for bringing millions together to fight and drink while answering thousands of trivia questions, and of course there's SingStar, which hasn't yet made quite the dent it has over in Europe, but we're hoping the last two versions released will help out because, frankly, they're awesome.

If you haven't yet jumped in, though, Sony is sweetening the pot considerably. If you've been staring longingly at pictures of the special edition slimline PS2s that Japan and Europe have been getting for years now and have wept openly about our decided lack of such sexiness, dry your eyes, friend. Now you too can get the limited-edition Ceramic White PS2. But there's a catch: you can only get it (at least for now) as part of the SingStar bundle. For just under $150, you'll get the new PS2, two microphones, and a copy of SingStar Pop.

The idea is to rope in all six people on the planet that haven't yet picked up a PS2 yet, and with the kind of library that thing has, plus the news that the new PlayStation 3s will not be backwards compatable with PS2 games, this is a fairly cheap way to ensure that you can play all those hundreds of kick-ass games for years to come (or you can hurry up and grab a 60GB PS3 while they're still in stores).

The SingStar PlayStation 2 Pack goes on sale starting tomorrow, so go grab it and surprise someone for your respective gift-giving holiday -- or punch yourself in the face until you can't remember your name and surprise yourself! Even if you won't know who gave it to you...
