SSX 3 Revealed
EA Sports Big gives us the dirt on the third installment of their highly successful snowboarding franchise, SSX 3.

After two previous smash hits from their SSX snowboarding series (SSX and SSX Tricky), EA Sports Big looks to up the ante this time around with SSX 3 (working title). This new installment of the franchise will be focusing on one detail in particular – freedom. SSX 3 will be the ultimate free-roaming snowboarding experience for gamers, enabling gamers to board wherever gravity takes them. In addition, features such as all-new events and courses, gravity-defying tricks, and a cast of cool, customizable will truly give SSX 3 an impressive edge over its predecessors.
EA Canada has spent almost two years of development on SSX 3, and the results will truly show. Realistic character shadowing, rich-looking, sparkling snow, and seamless connections from one area to the next (allowing you to enter competitions, take on Big Challenges, and even discover hidden collectibles) are only a few of the notable graphical improvements that the EA Canada team will be featuring in SSX 3. As for the gameplay, look for amazing new additions to the trick component such as new over-the-top tricks and unlimited combos, as well as new boarding venues, and the new Big Challenges, which reward players for completing any of the more than 100 unique challenges (grinding billboards, boarding press logs, hand planting the fence line, you name it!).
The catchy tunes have always been a great part of the overall snowboarding experience, so look for brand new tracks and artists in SSX 3, including the X-Ecutioners, Felix Da Housecat, Queens of the Stone Age, N.E.R.D., and many more.
SSX 3 will be hitting game stores this fall, but don't be surprised if EA Sports Big gives it a surprise debut at E3 2003! Stay tuned with PSX2.com this May as we bring you the best E3 coverage on the net, live from the big show!
