NubyTech to Tear Gamers a New One

Prepare to play Resident Evil 4 in style... assuming chainsaw controllers are stylish.

As Capcom preps to port arguably the greatest survival horror game in history over to the PlayStation 2, NubyTech looks to be just as ready, dropping the details today on its Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller. This piece of work, reddish-orange in color with blood splattered here and there for good measure, will be your alternative for controlling protagonist Leon S. Kennedy as he rediscovers the horrors of a European village this fall on the PS2.

Unlike its GameCube counterpart, the PS2 version of the RE4 Chainsaw rocks the newly-added ripcord that starts up the controller with the chill-inducing roar of an actual chainsaw (you'll hear plenty of those in the game, we assure you). Also included is a display stand, complete with a compartment for the detachable cord and a shiny Capcom logo. Perhaps best of all, the chainsaw controller is interactive with the in-game weapon position, meaning if you lower the chainsaw to a horizontal position, Leon will actually ready his weapon in the game. Awesome!

The Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller will be ripping through shelves this October, scheduled to release in time for the fall-slated PS2 version of Resident Evil 4. Seeing as it is somewhat of a collector's piece, except to drop $59.99 in Benjamins for this one.
