Yesterday, THQ Inc. announced that it holds the #2 U.S. independent software publisher position and #4 software publisher position overall for the month of May, as well as the first five months of 2001 according to NPD's TRSTS Video Games Summary (ed. note: you can see the TRSTS video games summary for the month of May by clicking here).
Red Faction for PlayStation 2 ranked as the best-selling PlayStation 2 game for the month of May after just nine days at retail. WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role for PlayStation, released in November 2000, remains the top-selling PlayStation game of 2001.
