Volition recently discussed the possibility of sequels for their Summoner and Red Faction titles.

In a recent issue of PC Gamer U.K., Volition Associate Producer Anoop Shekar discussed the possibilities of creating sequels to Summoner and Red Faction.

Shekar stated the following in regards to these titles:
[blockquote]"Assuming that both Summoner and Red Faction do well, we'll probably do sequels, though we don't really know for sure yet. Then we'll look at another project, increase our size a bit… but we have no idea what at this time what out next venture is going to be. We have lots of ideas on the table already, but nothing for certain."[/blockquote]When asked about how most PC gamers have narrowed their interests for Quake-type and other FPS titles, Shekar added the following:
[blockquote]"It seems that there are people who are very die-hard and play a certain type of game and are not interested in trying new ideas. I think that's what's created this new PC market."[/blockquote]Summoner was the first RPG to hit the PlayStation 2 console as a launch title in October. Red Faction; an action title for the PlayStation 2 will be arriving to stores across North America on May 9th, 2001. Both games have been published by THQ.

We will have more information on these titles as well as their possible sequels for the PS2 platform as it becomes available.
