Published: May 14, 2003
Young men nationwide have reason to rejoice today as co-publishers ARUSH Entertainment and Groove Games kicked off the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2003 by announcing that Massachusetts developer Cyberlore has begun development on Playboy: The Mansion. The game will give PC and console gamers alike the chance to build Hugh Hefner's Playboy Empire from the bottom up, and how well the empire succeeds all depends on well gamers can manage the social scene.
"We were looking for a development team that could handle the enormity of creating a game that communicates the excitement and essence of the world- renowned Playboy brand and we found it in Cyberlore," said Jim Perkins, spokesman for ARUSH and Groove. "Their impressive creativity and development experience will make Playboy: The Mansion a true simulation of the Playboy lifestyle."
Playboy: The Mansion puts gamers into the slippers and robe of Hugh Hefner and challenges them to build Playboy Magazine and the Playboy Mansion into the world's most recognizable icon. Social interactions will be the key to succeeding, as rubbing shoulders with stunning celebrities and women will boost you in the social scene, while arranging photo shoots and celebrity interviews will be needed to keep the business thriving.
"We are using our extensive experience with simulation, strategy and role- playing games to make Playboy: The Mansion into a true-to-life replica of the Playboy lifestyle," said Joe Minton, President & CEO of Cyberlore. "Gamers will be given the chance to feel what it's like to walk in Hef's slippers."
Playboy: The Mansion will also include:
