$100K Tournament Shapes Up
Still looking to head West to prove your NBA Ballers skills? We’ve got the 411 on Midway’s tourney.
Published: March 13, 2006
If you recall from last month (we know the whole short-term memory thing can be problematic, but we insist you try!), we forwarded over first details on the NBA Ballers: Phenom $100K Tournament, a competition with the intent of pitting over 1,000 of nation’s finest digital ballers against one another in a one-on-one, single-elimination tourney.
As wonderfully descript as we were weeks ago (something along the lines of, “sometime in April, at some place in L.A., someone’s gonna win… and celebrities will be there too. Yeah.”), we’ve returned with the real scoop on the event.
Ready to memorize the details? We don’t believe you – get out a pen and paper.
The NBA Ballers: Phenom $100K Tournament will take place April 8-9 at the Los Angeles-based Music Box. In addition to the competition, where one of 1,024 hopefuls will walk away with 100 grand, the “weekend blowout” will feature a live performance from Ne-Yo, celebrity appearances (ok, so we lied – we still don’t know who’s showing up), and interactive exhibits letting you “live the life of an NBA superstar.” We’ll take their word on it.
To get the entire lowdown on the event (don’t miss the state-excluding rules and regulations), check out the official registration page. The “Selection Process” kicked off on the 6th, and will be running strong until the final minutes of Wednesday, March 22. A $10 entry fee is required and only 1024 lucky participants will get a spot, so get a move on!
