NARC Busts Out Bargain Price Tag

The best $20 hit you'll ever have.

We'll be honest in admitting we totally didn't see this one coming: Midway Games has announced that its NARC, a third-person GTA-esque game that bears some reference to the Midway classic, will be heading to stores for the "addictive" price of $19.95. The company sees it as a surefire way to get players "hooked" on the cleaning the streets and busting those who soil them. Yeah, drug references are getting old, we know.

NARC, which straps that badges on gamers as either DEA Agent Marcus Hill (Bill Bellamy) or Jack Forzenski (Michael Madsen), a copper fresh out of rehab, follows the investigation on a mysterious new drug, called Liquid Soul, that's been spreading throughout the city. As Marcus and Jack attempt to take down the cartel behind it all, temptation hides in every corner, forcing you the player to decide if you want to fly straight-edge or get involved in the shady business of a skewed, drug-abusing cop.

Midway has confirmed NARC's ship date to be March 22, 2005, so mark those calendars and, uh, stay out of trouble until then.
