BloodRayne Falls On The PS2

Majesco's vampiric action-adventure to hit all next-gen platforms.

Terminal Reality pretty much has a lock on the spooky engine market. The engine that powered Noctune and the trilogy of Blair Witch games was one of the best looking available for the PC at the time, especially in the way it rendered lighting and cloth effects.

Terminal Reality's next graphics platform, dubbed the Infernal Engine will serve as the base for their upcoming vampire-filled super heroine-led bloodfest, BloodRayne, due for release on PC, PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

"As our first product to be released across all advanced gaming systems, BloodRayne represents another benchmark in the growth of our publishing business," Majesco president Jesse Sutton elated. "With its immersive gameplay, compelling storyline, and captivating lead character, BloodRayne has the potential to become a cornerstone franchise for years to come."

The story revolves around BloodRayne, the half-vampire, half-human charged with unraveling the works of a 1930's pre-Nazi cult and their scads of evil underlings. BloodRayne possesses the usual vampiric qualities like super agility and strength, as well as the ability to zoom with her eyes and see at night. The press release also lists "slow-motion perception that enables her to weave in and out of bullets", a la The Matrix or Max Payne.

BloodRayne won't see release until the last quarter of 2002, but we'll keep you updated as the game progresses.
