Max Payne 2 Goes Gold
Rockstar Games and Remedy Entertainment announced today that Max Payne 2 has gone gold. The PS2 version isn't so far behind anymore..

Earlier today, Rockstar Games and Remedy Entertainment jointly announced that their current project for the PC, Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne has gone gold. The game is expected to arrive on the PC on October 15th, 2003 in North America. A European version has also been planned for release on October 24th.
Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games stated the following with regards to the announcement today:[blockquote]"With Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Remedy has done an incredible job in raising the bar for technical innovation and creating a truly superb cinematic experience. With two and a half years invested in this project, the results exceeded even our high expectations. Everyone at Rockstar is eagerly anticipating the reaction of gamers around the world when it hits the streets."[/blockquote]Petri Jarvilehto, Lead Game Designer for Remedy Entertainment added the following:[blockquote]"Working with the vast array of talent and resources that Rockstar Games brings to the table, we've been able to push the production values to an incredibly high level in Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. We are confident we've created a strong successor to the first game that pushes the envelope on cinematic action and intense storytelling."[/blockquote]With the PC version now complete, you can bet that Remedy is hard at work on completing the remaining versions of the game, including the upcoming PlayStation 2 edition, which is currently set for release on December 3rd.
