Manhunt Revealed

The next best thing from Rockstar North is on its way, and it's even gorier than GTA. Don't believe me? Read on.

In the September 2003 issue of PSM, Rockstar North's latest project was revealed – Manhunt. From the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series, Manhunt plays out like a demented version of hide and seek. It seems the game takes place in Carcer City (ring a bell, anyone?), which is ruled by an extremely rich, powerful and sick man known as "The Director." As death-row inmate James Earl Cash, you've been secretly kidnapped and "freed" by The Director, but for a price. The Director has taken the liberty of putting you into one of his sick films, where your only chance of survival is to kill all of these demented gang members and killers (using your stealth, skills and weaponry to your advantage) that The Director has sent out for you. As strange of a comparison as it may seem, Manhunt forces you to sneak around to kill your enemies and stuff their bodies somewhere hidden in a Metal Gear Solid-like fashion.

Even from these early details, Manhunt seems to have enough spook to it to surpass all horror-related games on the market. And seeing as it's coming from the creators of the Grand Theft Auto series, we can surely expect some intense and deep gameplay.

Much like the Kent Paul website alluding to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the boys and girls at Rockstar have also launched an online game teaser for Manhunt. There's not much to the site (http://www.rockstargames.com/manhunt), but you can bet your bottom dollar that we'll bring you more Manhunt details as they arise. Stay tuned!
