Activision, the publisher that has been all about the movie-based games these days, has added another to the list in announcing Madagascar. With a DreamWorks film by the same name currently in production, the game has players seeing the roles of four Central Park Zoo animals, all of which who seek to leave the concrete jungle of New York City for the island of Madagascar.
The cast consists of Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Gloria the hippo, and Melman the giraffe, and players will see to it that each builds up his/her unique skills, such as Marty's stealth crawl for Marty and, er, butt smash for Gloria, all which will be necessary in the game's numerous environments. Madagascar divides the escape into 11 chapters brimming with action, including the zoo breakout in "Marty's Escape" and the trip on-board a giant cargo ship in "Penguin Mutiny." We'll go ahead and guess that the latter chapter involves penguins... and mutiny.
Madagascar makes its break in May 2005, and is in development for the consoles by Toys for Bob. We'll surely hear more on this one as the movie hits promo time, so be sure to check back for updated details.
