Midway Dishes Out Goods on L.A. Rush

Celebrity talent, soundtrack, licensed cars and a bag of chips to go with it.

Midway is all about their gamers feeling the rush so it seems, as today, the company made known the licensed celebrity voice talent, music and vehicles it plans to include in its upcoming, over-the-top racer, L.A. Rush.

"L.A. Rush pimps out and juices up this classic Midway franchise while staying true to the fast-paced racing, death-defying shortcuts, and rooftop jumps the series is famous for," assured Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway. "The game features more than 35 of the hottest licensed cars and an additional 16 exclusively designed concept cars that can be fully tricked out by the world famous crew at West Coast Customs. Top celebrity and hip-hop talent add to the game's innovative story mode and make L.A. Rush one of the must have racing games of the year."

That top celebrity talent includes Bill Bellamy (apparently a Midway regular these days), Orlando Jones, and rap artist Twista. The game casts players as street racer Trikz, who comes home from some time off to find out his precious rides have been jacked by his rival, Lidell Ray (that'd be Bellamy). Jones plays the role of Ty Malix, a partner of Lidell Ray, while Twista plays Ray's driver and apparently the "world's fastest man." The now-infamous crew at West Coast Customs, who've pimped many-a-ride on MTV with unnecessary accessories, will also be featured as themselves.

Musically, expect to hear a rap-dominated, 75+ song soundtrack from the likes of Lil Kim, DJ Rap, Damian Valentine, among others, with two unreleased tracks courtesy of Twista.

The ever-growing list of rides set to hit the streets in L.A. Rush include:
