Katamari Damacy Rolls Out the Golden Clump

With straight-up Japanese wackiness intact, Katamari Damacy will be tumbling to a store near you very soon.

Namco announced today that Katamari Damacy, it's quirky Japanese action title (if you can even call it that), has gone gold. When the King of the Cosmos accidentally knocks the stars out of the sky, it's up to his son, the prince, to right his father's mishap. How might he do that, you ask? Oh, simply by rolling a large clump of mass (a "katamari") around, collecting every shred that stands in its path, from cars to cookies to people to… whales. Couldn't make this stuff up.

"Namco's rolling, sticking, never-stopping, ever-swelling clump of stuff that makes a star out of everyone and everything game' couldn't be more addictive, more eccentric, or more fun," said Rod Nakamoto, Executive Vice President of Research and Development for Namco Hometek Inc. "Katamari Damacy's easy-to-pick-up gameplay mechanics and humorous storyline are sure to appeal to people of all ages."

Katamari Damacy rolls out the fun on September 21, gathering up an "E" for "Everyone" rating and loveable $19.99 price tag along the way. Expect a full review as soon as the game hits!
