Justice League... Assemble!

Eidos will be distributing the game here in the States and publishing it abroad.

We like hearing success stories like Eidos, who seems to be battling back from the bring of... well, something. Instead of going the way of 3DO or Acclaim, the publisher seems to have recovered, with titles like Tomb Raider: Legend and the upcoming Rogue Trooper leading the charge.

Though they're not exactly publishing it here in the states, having their hands (and logo) on anything related to a Snowblind Studios property is a good thing. The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath developer scored big time when they were picked to helm the Justice League game, which hits on both PS2 and PSP.

Eidos will be picking up the tab for publishing and marketing in Europe, but here in the States, they're simply using their distribution channels to help Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment push the game to retail, which isn't exactly a bad deal for them. WBIE ("weebeeeee", we call 'em) will handle all the marketing here, and it's likely we'll start to see a bit of it trickling in as we get closer to the game's Fall launch later this year.

"Justice League Heroes is an exciting game for so many audiences, and our focus is to present these super heroes on consoles and the PSP in the most compelling way for players," exclaimed Jason Hall, senior vice president for WBIE. "Partnering with Eidos, who has had much success in distribution, will allow the strongest reach for this action game where gamers take on the super powers of their favorite DC Comics' heroes."

"With the addition of Justice League Heroes to Eidos' portfolio of products, featuring Lara Croft and Agent 47, we are creating a formidable line-up for gamers that will now include playing as Superman, Batman and the other super heroes," giggled Jane Cavanagh, Chief Executive, Eidos Interactive.

We'll make sure we pass along our geeked-out impressions of the game as soon as we get some hands-on time with it.
