The heroes you know and love from DC Comics' Justice League of America are soon to get the action RPG treatment.

In a gaming world of caped crusaders and web slingers, what's one more team of super heroes? Comic fans may rejoice though, as these aren't just any heroes - this is the legendary Justice League of America, coming to consoles in the form of an action role-playing game, courtesy of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
"We are excited to announce a videogame that will bring the legendary super heroes of the Justice League of America to the next level for gamers," said Jason Hall, Senior Vice President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "The innovative and highly engaging combat system in the Justice League of America game will capture the strength and appeal of the characters, offering players a tremendously fun and rewarding experience."
True to their DC Comics roots, the all-star line-up of super heroes will include Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Zatanna. Much akin to X-Men Legends, as it seems, each hero will have character-specific powers and skills, which can be customized, and as we assumed, leveled up over time. The game will allow for two-player co-op play on top of the single player experience, so both you and that comic geek you call a best friend can get in on the action.
Justice League of America saves the day in fall of 2006, though not in next-generation form - expect this one on the PS2 and Xbox.
